mandigo-ffxi-bloggers-wordpress-theme-of-choice

I’ve started to notice a crazy trend in the FFXI blogging community recently.

Not log after I swapped to using Mandigo as my theme du’jour, it seems its spread like wild fire as a popular theme for a whole bunch of FFXI bloggers.

I’ll admit- the theme is really, really spiffy. Multiple column options, it has a ton of customization options, and it has several color “schemes” to pick from (and the ease to add your own custom header). It’s a sexy theme.

But it makes me sad a bit. :< I’m not feeling my blog is “unique” anymore when I start blog hopping to 4 other sites that look like variations of what I’ve done. :(

Clearly the answer is I need to learn to code my own theme, but sadly I don’t have the time to dedicate to that these days. :(

Mandigo-using blogs (that I know of!):
- A Bardlet’s Tale
- Wandering Flame
- I Am MogKnight, I Am Awesome
- The Wonderful World of Lordwafik

I know there are more, I just don’t have them all bookmarked…

In FFXI news, I have an acual big update coming this weekend, as I completed some stuff worth bragging about (not all of it is lewtz, either!)! :D

you-know

I had an actual FFXI-content post planned for tonight, but right now I feel like why bother.

I have a huge real life thing weighing on me right now ([1] [2] [3]), and it has really fucked with my head, my spirit, and my general overall attitude.

Paired with recent interactions, things are really driving home that I’m playing this game out of obligation and not fun.

We’ll see how the next week goes, but I have a feeling I may be canceling my content ID’s before the end of this year. So tired of everything and getting fed up with people’s attitudes in this game, I don’t know how much more patience I have left.

nerd-rage

This is too funny not to share.

http://www.sk-gaming.com/content/18933-Nerd_Rage_comes_to_Montreal

“The famous Nerd Rage has entered Montreal this weekend and is thanks to Celex from Gravitas Gaming. This time the Nerd Rage stepped up a level from the previous nerd rage at Los Angeles. This time Celex managed to break his head phones, damage the backdrop from the player’s area and also managed to totally destroy his laptop in the process.

Celex from Gravitas Gaming could not handle the heat SK Gaming PvP EU gave him in the Grand Final match for Extreme Masters Montreal. He went on a all out Nerd Rage spree as soon as Gravitas Gaming lost the match, smashing his Alienware laptop which made one hell of a hole, smashing his head phones into two parts and damaging the events advisement drop back in the player’s tournament area.

This of course is not the way to act when you are representing a professional gaming organisation. We can fully understand that a team who really wants to win a major tournament such as the Extreme Masters Montreal Global Challenge, but damaging event property and just being out of control in the public eye, well that is not commendable at all.”

Video after the jump!

yes-i-am-cheating-on-vanadiel

We’ll start out with some (very) minor FFXI stuff, and move onto my latest adventures in WoW (which are really the more interesting part of this post).

Basically, did some assaults, did some odin, got some lewtz. It’s really the same old stuff and nothing fantabulous to write about. Maybe once we finish climbing Nyzul (this week!) and I work on unlocking my *3* weaponskills.

Oh, remember my 5-day challenge? Yeah, it wound up to be a complete wash- I got some nasty cold bug that basically knocked me out and made me narcoleptic for 2.5 days. I basically stayed in bed, watched horrible television, and didn’t touch a computer until late Saturday night (technically it was Sunday morning, since it was after midnight…). Blargh.

So, FFXI screenies:

It’s currently found its way into my Flash, and Cure IV macros on WHM, and my Cure macros on BRD. -5 Enmity is no joke! (Plus, it’ll be nice-ish for my RDM when it gets high enough to take into Salvage.)

Another Odin down- this was our third. We got d-feet’ed! :( On the upside, we’re 2/3 on Hofud, and now 1/3 on V.Helm. :D First time we haven’t had an A. Body drop either (I am waiting, mwahaha). Wish some H. Feet would drop though. :( Though I need to find a Leathercrafter interested in trying for an HQ (and not charging me an arm and a leg) for when the abjuration drops anyway. Yes, I want to stupidly pimp my bard. :3

V. Helm is made for Tarutarus- don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!

Now. After the jump (because I acknowledge not everyone cares) are my recent achievements in WoW. And no, I don’t mean the new stuff added with today’s patch (you can thank emergency maintenance on my server for this post, by the way).

something-to-tide-you-over

I have a post incoming either tomorrow or Thursday (depends on when I’m less tired to edit screenshots), there’s a little FFXI but it’s mostly WoW-related, since that was how I’ve spent the better part of the last week (when I wasn’t passed out for hours from some nasty cold virus I picked up).

Anyway, in my various WoW-surfing travels, I came across a link to a Warsong Gulch video. For those who don’t know, Warsong Gulch (WSG) is a PvP Battleground that’s basically a 10v10 Capture the Flag game. I really enjoy it- especially with a good mix of (competent) people.

So why is this video interesting? Well. As those who poke around in my WoW-based posts here know, I play a Shadow Priest. Yes, a healing job that plays as a (pseudo) DPS job. It’s crazy fun, in my opinion, anyway.

So the video. It’s a Premade WSG group (meaning, they grouped up before they joined in the queue) of *10* Shadow Priests. It’s crazy face-melting, mind-flaying fun! I was pretty impressed- and amused- by this video. Posted after the jump- enjoy!
